On April 18, the elegance of the Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts was transformed into a world of mystery and glamour as Cypress High School hosted its annual prom, themed “A Night in Disguise.” From the moment students arrived in their formal best, it was clear that this night would go down in students’ memories.

The venue offered a diverse range of entertainment that catered to every personality. For those who wanted to escape the high-energy pulse of the music, a fully-stocked arcade room provided a nostalgic retreat, while a variety of snacks and refreshments kept the energy high throughout the evening.
Katie Moore, a junior and the ASB Director of Special Activities, played a pivotal role in bringing the vision to life. For her, the variety of the venue was the highlight.
“I really loved the multiple aspects of the venue—the dance floor and arcade room especially!” Moore shared. “I enjoyed spending the night on the dance floor with my best friends.”
For the Class of 2026, the night carried an extra layer of sentimentality. As graduation looms just weeks away, “A Night in Disguise” served as one of the final opportunities for juniors and seniors to celebrate under one roof.
Senior Emiko Crow emphasized the importance of capturing these fleeting moments. “It was great to see everyone and be able to take pictures with different groups of people,” Crow noted. “I have some great memories that I will hold on to forever.”
The sentiment of legacy and friendship was echoed by fellow senior Dorian Carrillo Ferrer, who felt the event lived up to the high expectations of a final high school formal.
“Truly it was such an amazing and spectacular prom to end our senior year with, especially with some of the people we love most,” Ferrer said. “It will always be a special memory of senior year.”
