The Cypress High School Girl’s Volleyball team secured their first CIF State Championship sweeping Clovis West in three close sets, making history for Cypress High on November 22, 2025 at Santiago Canyon College. After years of CIF playoffs, this year is the first time that Cypress has earned their way to compete in state finals. The victory marks the first time that Cypress has ever advanced to this level, making the end to the season historical.
Outside hitter Isabella Faro found that although Clovis had a strong offense, their defense and serving put the Centurions in a “good spot” to win. “I think that the team was the best part of the entire season, because I think that if it were any other set of girls, we wouldn’t have gone as far as we did,” Faro said. Students, parents, and alumni in the stands caused a “white out,” by wearing white to support the team. Principal Jennifer Brown and Athletic Directors Mark Slevcove and Sean Pfeiffer made their way to the floor to help Coach Alex Griffiths and the team accept their State Championship plaque.
