Boy’s tennis is always practicing hard during this rebuilding year.

The boy’s tennis team plays an exhilarating sport that combines athleticism, strategy, and fitness.

Head coach Joseph Paul got into the sport playing in college for fun but then took a turn in 2006 when he got serious about the sport. Paul said this year is a “rebuilding year,” for Cypress, reflected in the current 4-7 overall record. Paul said that the team is working on playing new positions and getting the team comfortable with each other. He says that the difference between a good team and a great team is that “a great team is a team that has the desire to win and to push themselves to be successful.”

Success in tennis definitely involves strategy and fitness.

Freshman JV player Issac Chun said, “ I like being involved in a sport here at Cypress and the tennis team is very welcoming and a good way to be in something that I love doing.” He plays tennis simply because it’s the sport he has played since he was a little kid and likes the competitive matches in the sport.

As the boys started their new season, they stepped onto the courts, ready to conquer the challenges that awaited them. There is no doubt that the boy’s tennis team will accomplish another successful season.
