On November 27, CHS football competed in the CIF championship game, losing to Downey High 7-40. After advancing through the grueling matchups of the CIF playoffs, including a defeat of Newport Harbor in the semi-final, the Centurions succeeded in reaching the championship game. Led by Head Coach Rick Feldman, the team tied the best record in school history at 13-1.

Since 2007, Cypress has made it to the CIF finals a total of three times, including this year. Against the fierce opposition, Cypress was still able to make some notable plays. Quarterback Aidan Houston executed a touchdown pass to Matthew Morrell putting the Centurions on the scoreboard. Morrell finished with 78 yards receiving and Houston finished with 123 passing yards.

Following the game itself, the younger players gave a heartfelt thanks and send- off to the seniors. In the days following the game, Morrell won offensive player of the year, Trevor Monteleone won defensive player of the year, and Jake Wilkie won defensive back of the year.

The season was filled with exciting and memorable moments throughout and the undefeated streak will be remembered for years to come.
