With this school year coming to an end, ASB has started planning for the 2026-2027 school year. Students on campus had the opportunity to vote for next year’s ASB officers, including president, vice president, secretary, treasurer, and class presidents.
Officers elected include Risha Rajkumar (ASB President), Jasslyn Kwong (ASB Vice President), Taryn Imai (ASB Treasurer), Emmaly Santos (ASB Secretary), Dylan Ramirez (Senior Class President), Jessica Yon (Junior Class President), and Nihal Bhasuru (Sophomore Class President).
The ASB officers’ goals for next year are diverse. Rajkumar said, “As ASB president, I hope to bring our community closer together and make sure our school spirit is long and everlasting, and I want our last year on campus to be the best one yet.” Kwong echoed, “I hope to accomplish increasing school spirit and making sure each event is super organized and fun for the whole school.”
ASB means many different things to students. Ramirez said ASB is important to him, “Because we’re just a community of people that don’t worry about grades so much, and we don’t let grades define us. And we all work together to accomplish something bigger than ourselves.” Kwong stated, “I believe ASB has really formed me into the person I’ve become and really strengthened my leadership skills.” Rajkumar added, “ASB is important to me because it transformed me into a leader, and I’ve made so many amazing connections that are going to last so much.”
Not only does ASB work with students, but they also work with teachers and administrators. Assistant Principal Mrs. Lauren Choi said, “I love working with ASB. They are really motivated, and they’re really good at communicating. I enjoy seeing the ideas they have to come up with.”
As the new ASB officers step up into their new positions, they hope that students have school spirit and hope to make events enjoyable for all students here at Cypress High School.
