As 2026 starts, January is the month for self-improvement and growth. This new year, Cypress Centurions have developed resolutions to refine themselves.

Junior Tiffany Lee has her sights set on the future. “My New Year’s resolution is to get a law internship,” she said. “I am currently applying to some law firms that I am interested in.” Lee has been looking into corporate law as a career in the future, and her resolution leads her one step closer to achieving this goal.
Library Media Technician Gina Bird wants to improve the literacy of Centurions. Bird

commented that she wants to “check out as many books as we can until the end of this school year.” She hopes that Cypress will realize the importance of reading by checking out more books in the library.
Senior Hajin Nam wants to love more like Jesus this year. “Because I identify as a daughter of Christ, I want to do what Jesus did, for example, forgiveness, kindness, and love,” she said. “I want to reflect that because Christ gave that to me.” Another one of Nam’s resolutions is to explore more art forms. “Art reflects life and has such beauty. I want to explore visual art, film, books, music, etcetera, not just to live my own life, but to see other people’s thoughts and opinions too.”
One of freshman Caleb Jin’s New Year’s resolutions is to better himself in multiple ways. “I want to gain self confidence by going to the gym, locking in on school, and finding myself spiritually with God.” Jin is focused on improving these qualities to become a better person in 2026.
Setting New Year’s resolutions start the year strong, helping us redefine and establish our goals for the new year. These new aspirations forge a new path for 2026, helping us become the best version of ourselves.
