Margaret Dumadag, a substitute school support secretary, has just started working at Cypress High School in the main office. Dumadag worked in Anaheim Elementary School in the HR department for eight and a half years, before moving to the Lowell Joint School District for 13 years doing classified personnel and workmans comp. After Dumadag retired in December of 2021, she decided after a couple of years to go into substituting at the high school her children went to. “It’s been great…becasue she’s worked in different positions within the district, she’s pretty knowledgeable with the needs that we have here,” said Mrs. Vicky Amador, another secretary in the main office.
Dumadag worked in the district office and never in the schools themselves, she wanted to try substituting at high schools “My son was the one that wanted me to work as a substitute…and so I did,” said Dumadag. After substituting for a bit Dumadag “fell in love” with Cypress and decided to come back and start substituting again. Since this isn’t her first time working here at Cypress “it isn’t that hard since I’m just here to serve and to help,” said Dumadag. “She’s super helpful, she’s the type that will get up and walk you through something or help you find something, she loves helping the students,” said Amador.
Dumadag looks forward to meeting all the students and staff who come into the office and “support the staff and students at Cypress,” said Dumadag.
