Cypress High School’s annual Club Rush began on August 25, 2025. Club Rush is an annual event lasting a week, and it’s a time where students get to explore and see which clubs they want to join.

Some clubs that participated in Club Rush were Key Club, Children’s Hospital of Orange County Club, Acts of Random Kindness, and Future Business Leaders of America.
Many schools also offer cultural clubs. Senior Adora Luong is the president of the Vietnamese Student Association (VSA.) “Our club kind of began as a cultural club at school, highlighting the Vietnamese culture,” Luong explained. She said it “brings activities like Lion Dancing, and they also share foods and traditions…”
Starting a club may be difficult at first, especially when recruiting new members. Junior Samuel Kim, president of the Science Olympiad Club, explained that “introducing science and trying to get them engaged with the club” will encourage students to join their club.

Senior Gavin Kim, President of Friday Night Live (FNL) Club, is excited for his club’s pop-up events. “Instead of two monthly meetings, we’re going to do one meeting and then a pop-up event every month. – We’re going to focus on doing fun activities rather than more of a formal informational meeting.” Kim explained.
ASB Club Commissioner, Kaitlyn Lee, explained this year’s Club Rush went well. Although there were some complications with students finding the clubs they wanted to see, having it inside made it less hectic. “I think it did go well, but I think it was harder for people to find the clubs and get exposure to them,” said Lee.
The event wrapped up on August 29, leaving students excited about the clubs they plan to join and the opportunities to get involved throughout the year.
