The long-awaited family action ”Moana 2“ movie was released in theaters on November 21, 2024. Kids and families have been waiting for the second part of the Moana movie series to come out. The hour and forty-three-minute film shares the struggle of Moana trying to connect other islands with her home island.
The film stars Dwayne Johnson as Maui, Auli’i Cravalho as Moana, Nicole Scherzinger as Sina, Alan Tudyk as Heihei, Rose Matafeo as Loto, Temuera Morrison as Tui, Rachel House as Tala, and Hualalai Chung as Moni. Moana 2 was filmed at the Walt Disney Animation Studios in Burbank California.
“Moana 2” follows Moana on different adventures. First, Moana gets a call from her ancestors; they tell her that she has to go to the far seas that no one has traveled before. Moana asks three other people to go with her on the journey and on the adventure they meet up with Maui. During the trip, they fight different gods to help restore the land and connect the people. Eventually, after Moana becomes a demigod they return to the island of Motufetu with other people from the ocean. In the end, there is a celebration held for Moana.
The first “Moana” movie told the story of a brave girl trying to save her island and figure out who she was. It focused on her journey, people, friendship with Maui, and love for the ocean. “Moana 2” is mostly based on what happens after her first adventure. It shows her life as a leader and how she faces new challenges and tries to protect her home island. While the first movie was about finding herself and who she wants to be, the second was about helping others and what they want. Both films share the same meaning: courage, family, and her love for nature.
Some people thought the movie wasn’t as impactful as the first one. They said it didn’t have that much of a strong storyline and the songs weren’t as good. On the other hand, other people thought the movie had good humor, characters, animation, and a positive message throughout the movie.
